Lori Locust Accepts Position as Member of WFA Advisory Board

Lori Locust becomes the newest member of the WFA Advisory Board. She adds a wealth of experience as a former player and current NFL coach. Lori Locust made history as the first female full-time coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers following her role as a defensive line coach for the Birmingham Iron of the Alliance of American Football.  In 2018, Locust was a defensive coaching intern for the Baltimore Ravens during the team’s training camp. Locust becomes the 2nd Advisory Board* member working as a full-time coach in the NFL.

A native of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Locust graduated from Susquehanna Township High School, where she worked as an assistant coach from 2010-2018. She also held roles as an assistant coach with the Central Penn Piranha, a semi-professional men’s team in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, from 2013-16, the DMV Elite semi-professional team from 2016-18 and the Keystone Assault of the Women’s Football Alliance from 2017-18.

“We honored to add such a talented and experienced football coach and former player to our board,” stated Lisa King, WFA Commissioner, “Coach Locust is a role model to the players in this league by showing them that anything is possible as a female football player.”

“I wouldn’t be here without having played and being a part of the women’s game,” stated Lori, “I’m very humbled and honored to be able to give back to women’s players and help take women’s football to the next level.”

The WFA Advisory Board is comprised of successful businesswomen who have also dedicated their time and effort to the success of women’s tackle football either as players or as owners and managers.  Additionally, their experience working with the NFL and/or USA Football brings a depth of football knowledge that will help propel the growth and recognition of women’s tackle football on a national and international level.
